Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German film and television actress famous for her performance in films like Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Born as the only children from Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra got into the showbiz world early and was playing lead roles in different shows on television by the time she was sixteen. Her performance as Adolf Hitler's Secretary Traudl Jue in Downfall (an Oscar-nominated wartime historical film), was critically and commercially acclaimed. The Reader, Der Baader Meinhof Komplex and The Reader are also Oscar-nominated films featuring the diva. Over the years Alexandra has worked in several important international and national productions. These include British biographical films Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time as well as the French historical miniseries Napoleon as well as other miniseries. Other roles she has held include being an official jury member for each of The Transylvania International Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival.
