Alexandra Maria Lara has been an Romanian/German film and television actress for more than a decade. Alexandra is known for parts as a character in Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Being the sole daughter of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra began her career in showbiz early. She played lead roles in TV dramas as young as 16 years old. Her portrayal of Adolf Hitler's Secretary Traudl Jue in Downfall (an Oscar-nominated wartime historical film), was critically and highly rated commercially. Other Oscar nominated film starring the actress include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra worked on several notable national and international projects throughout her career. They include British biographical films like Control and The Dust of Time as along with the French historical miniseries Napoleon. Also, she was part of the jury for the Transylvania International Film Festival, and also at Cannes Film Festival.
